House MD Canon Character Application
Name: Gregory House
Position at PPTH: Head of Diagnostics Department
Personality: The inner workings of Greg House's mind is a tapestry so complex and interwoven, only he himself can comprehend how intricately it delves. Between contorting his face in a comical fashion worthy of a five-year-old and using his profound expertise to solve medical cases that are often physically implausible, House's wide range of character is determined merely by what whimsy he decides to follow. His exterior consists of a bitter, bigoted, sarcastic, selfish gimp whose observational skills far surpass even the most experienced detective. Armed with a sense of humor that's either dry enough to soak up oceans or childish enough to make a toddler giggle, House does a decent job of keeping the world at a distance with his apathy, the exceptions being House's inner circle, whom he actually trusts and respects, for the most part. When he's not being hostile to strangers, he's being cruelly honest with them, revealing devastating secrets about them with ease. Occasionally, his shell cracks, and he lets show the very emotions that he often mocks. Reckless and stubborn, his methods of getting what he wants are usually extreme and ostentatious. He's characterized by his uncanny ability to be right about everything, though this hypothesis has proven faulty in the past. His biggest trademark is the refusal to change, a principle of which he holds first and foremost.
Appearance: Standing at over an intimidating 6 feet, House's frame can be summarized in one word- bulky. His body is a hefty, longwise rectangle, usually adorned either with a t-shirt with obscure logos and words, or a casual suit. His face is roughly triangular, outlined with gruff stubble and a scattered mess of graying hair. Nigh invisible light-brown eyebrows hover over two of House's physical claims to fame- his piercing and deep blue eyes. Wrinkles of age lurk at the main features of his face, an example being the mouth, which consists of pale pink lips. A long, sharp nose protrudes proudly, while a pair of small ears unobtrusively hang from the sides of the head. He's usually found leaning on his cane and strolling haphazardly with a limp.
History: An important event in House's life is when he was inflicted with an infarction in his leg, causing his thigh muscle to nearly die altogether. This results in constant, burdening pain that House deals with by taking more than his healthy dose of Vicodin. He had a serious and profound relationship with Stacy Warner during that time that was broken off soon after, only to be rekindled five years later, which was subsequently ended, supposedly due to House's inability to change. House went to college with Lisa Cuddy, and she was also his doctor when his leg had an infarction. Rumor has it they engaged in sexual activities during their school days, but that has yet to be confirmed. House has had a long history in stirring up trouble in the Princeton Plainsboro hospital in which he works, but one of the milestones was a run-in with Edward Volger, who demanded that House recognize his subservient place, a request that could never be obeyed. Thanks to Cuddy, Volger was taken out of the picture, but not after bringing loyalties and respect into question. The next major event was House being shot, and, in order to deal with the wound, was put on ketamine, a treatment that temporarily healed his leg. He was eventually back on the cane, however, seemingly grumpier than ever. The most recent dilemma was one involving an observant policeman named Tritter, who caught on to House's unethical habits and set out to throw him in jail. Cuddy, as a last-ditch effort to prevent this, perjuries herself, leaving House indebted to her. This has left the biggest aftermath of all, with House's relationship with his team and best-friend-Wilson strained nearly beyond repair.
House's family life obviously had a major impact on how he deals with his parents presently. His father practiced cruel and unusual punishments when House was young, growing strong and nurtured feelings of hatred within him. His mother is a walking lie detector and has a knack for making House feel guilty, though he has admitted that he harbors no harsh resentment towards her- at least, none that can rival the ones felt toward his father.

Roleplay Sample: Here's a fanfic of mine, including mainly House and Cuddy- Flicker. It's one of my first, so not that good, but the rest of my stuff is in drabble form, because I'm lame and am too scared to submit my bigger stuff.
Do You Want To Play This Character For The Crossover, Too?: Yessss.
If Yes, Will You Be Willing to Give One of These RPs Up Should Another Auditioner Ask? Sure, if they reallyreally want it. ^^
