Scrubs Canon Character Application
Name:
Carla Espinosa
Position at Sacred Heart:
Nurse
Personality:
Despite Carla's tough exterior, she's actually very kindhearted. She watches out for her friends, and sticks up for them when needed, Especially J.D. (in which who she affectionately calls Bambi) With doctor Cox.
She's not shy in the least, and will never have a problem speaking her mind if necessary. And out of everybody in the hospital, she's the one that you would not like to make fun of. She'll humiliate you on the spot, no questions asked.
She is somewhat of a "know-it-all," and gives unwanted advice to all of her friends. She calls bossing people around "her crack". Despite her personal foibles, no one dares makes fun of her; when anyone does, she humiliates them in front of the entire hospital; this changes in one episode, where Carla says that she allows her
friends to make fun of her, which results in most of the hospital mocking her for the rest of her shift.
She can be quite emotional at times, especially when with Isabella or if somebody gets to her. Which is hard, so it you got to her, you must have said something really bad.
Appearance:
Carla has an unmistakable appearance. You can't get her confused. She stands at about 5"3 and has short curly hair. Espinosa has a petite build, and doesn't weigh more than one hundred and twenty pounds. She has dark brown eyes that are placed on her dark tan skin.
Carla has thin hands, and long nails. She hasn't really ever bit them, but keeps them in check. And she isn't what you'd call extremely vain, but she likes to keep her appearance presentable.
At work, she is seen sporting pink scrubs and a blue stethoscope around her neck. When dressed fancy, she has a couple dresses and a few high-heels. But, for the most part, she wears jeans and a shirt out when she's just hanging.
History:
Carla is a nurse who works at Sacred Heart Hospital, in which the main action of the show takes place.
She was raised in Chicago. Her family is from the Dominican Republic. It is revealed in Season five that she is 36,
which suggests that she was born in 1969 or 1970.
Carla starts dating Christopher Turk in the show's pilot episode, and marries him at the end of the third season. Despite Elliot Reid's best efforts, Carla doesn't feel particularly close to her at first, although they have since become good friends. Conversely, she and series protagonist J.D. have a fairly close friendship. She is protective of J.D. and stands up for him when chief attending physician Dr. Cox shouts at him for no reason.
Throughout the fifth season, she and Turk try to conceive a baby. Initially, they are unsuccessful, but finally get pregnant toward the end of the season. She gives birth to a baby girl, whom they name Isabella.
Carla is an ex-smoker who used hypnosis to quit.
It is also revealed in the episode "His Story" that Carla's father ran away from her mother when Carla was a child.
She has two sisters and a brother who hate Turk. Her mother, who also hates Turk, dies and when they attend the funeral, her family sorta resented.
Other;; Thanks to Wikipedia for the history, part of the personality, and a few other things. <3 And I'm willing to fix anything that needs it. =)
Roleplay Sample:
Samantha, after finishing the Peryton case for the ministry of magic, was actually seeking work elsewhere. So, she had gotten a job at a restaurant and has been on 'paid vacation' for about four months now. she found it quite refreshing actually and planned on getting a full-time job here instead of the ministry. Her last case had been... interesting to say the least, but catching a flesh-eating stag-bird isn't what she wants to do for a living.
She walked to the table, looked at them both and handed the men some menus, was complimented then blushing as she walked away to another table for a moment, handed them menus, continued that with one other and returned to Fred and George's table, The red in her face subduing from his compliment.
She grabbed a pencil and notepad from her apron she wore around her wast. She was wearing normal muggle clothes, a pair of jeans and a white button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Her wavy brown hair was in a long ponytail over her shoulder and she had a watch around her wrist. She would've looked like a muggle completely, other than the fact you could see her wand slightly sticking out from the apron around her waist. She had a tie loosely tied around her neck, and liked it that way. It was actually part of the hogwarts uniform, a blue tie from Ravenclaw.
She smiled at the two, not knowing either name, but knowing they owned a shop down the road. Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. She found the shop amusing, she hasn't seen a shop quite like it in.. well ever. She's thought about going into it quite a few times, just to check it out. But decided against it. "What would you two like today?" she asked, still smiling politely down at the two.
Do You Want To Play This Character For The Crossover, Too?: Yeah, why not? It seems like fun.
If Yes, Will You Be Willing to Give One of These RPs Up Should Another Auditioner Ask? It depends If I like playing the crossover, then no, I wouldn't. But, If I do not enjoy it, then by all means.
