I've been playing Final Fantasy VI Advanced on my DS a lot recently. I love this game, it's my childhood, and I really think every one should play it.
But more on that later.
The thing I wanted to talk about is how I've named my characters after Scrubs and House characters. Mostly Scrubs, but that's because there are more of them...
Celes: My favorite character of the lot, Celes is an Empire General-turned-Returner. She's kick ass and one of the strongest Female characters I have ever come across in any game. Naturally, I named her Jordan.
Edgar: The King of Figaro, and my second favorite character, Edgar is a bit of a ladies man. Despite this not working for the name, he is the character I see fitting well with Celes, so he's Perry.
Locke: Treasure Hunter and an important figure in the Returners, a group dedicating to fighting the Empire, Locke is a cutie. He also has feelings for Celes, and Terra. He likes to protect the ladies. I named him House.
Terra: I hate this character. Half human, half Esper, a magical being, she drives most of the action in the story. She's also the first character you get to play as, and name, which is why she has the honor of being Cuddy. I didn't think.
Sabin: Edgar's twin brother, a man who left his kingdom and instead isolated himself and trained his body. He is big, buff and sometimes rash. He cares for his brother, and is one of my regular party members. His name is Dorian.
Setzer: Gambler extraordinaire, and owner of the world's fastest Air Ship, Setzer is a man dedicated to living life by the flip of a coin. He falls for Celes, thinking she is his favorite Opera Singer, Maria. He's a badass, and I named him Robert. I'm not sure why I didn't go with Chase.
Shadow: He is an enigmatic ninja who has no friends. He's slit his mother's throat for a nickel! A sword for hire, he joins the group tentatively, with his dog Interceptor, leaving whenever he feels like it. I've named him Foreman.
Cyan: A knight of a castle that was comletely destroyed by the Empire, Cyan is a man on a mission for retribution. His wife and young daughter were killed when the castle's water supply was poisoned. He is honorable and talks kinda weird. His name is Wilson.
Gau: A young boy raised in the wild. He can copy the abilities of the enemies the group encounters on his homeland, the Veldt. His father cast him out when he became unruly, and he joined the Returners when he came upon Sabin and Cyan after the destruction of Cyan's castle. I named him Chase because I'm on crack.
Relm: The most... maybe second most after Terra... annoying character in the game, Relm is a spoiled young girl who paints the portraits of her enemies and then, with her magic, has the images attack. I named her Elliot.
Strego: Strego is Relm's grandfather, and one of the last of the Magi. Hoping to avoid another war between humans and espers, the Magi hid themselves, banning use of their magic. When a house catches on fire, however, Strego uses his magic to save Relm. Because he's an old man, I called him Kelso.
Mog: A moogle! A cute little animal that resembles a teddy bear, with blue eyes and a silly little pom pom coming out of his head. He as wings, but can't fly, and likes to dance. Since he is not human, and that makes naming difficult, I called him Ted. Come on, that's funny.
I think the funniest moment, with these names, has come when I was raising up their magic and the game announced that 'House learned Death'.
I peed a little, I was laughing so hard.
Oh yeah, and imagining some of these character interactions is so much fun. Hahahaha.
